To begin, we assessed the general fan sentiment toward all 30 MLB teams using Hootsuite’s brand sentiment analysis tool (categorizing sentiment as positive, neutral, or negative). We also factored in attendance figures for both home and away games (according to ESPN) and checked if sports betting is legal within each team’s location — giving extra credit to those states permitting both in-person and online betting options, such asOntario sportsbook apps in Canada.
By amalgamating all these elements, we curated our list of the top 10 teams with the finest fan atmospheres in Major League Baseball.
The Philadelphia Phillies claim the top position on our list of MLB franchises that provide the best fan environment. The team secured the second spot for total attendance in 2024, welcoming over 3.3 million fans collectively across their home and away games. A significant contributing factor to the vibrant atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park is none other than the Phillie Phanatic — this much-loved green mascot has been energizing Philadelphia audiences since 1978.
In contrast, Canada’s sole MLB representative comes in at third place, showcasing a distinct home-field advantage. Check it outToronto Blue Jays playoff odds with us at OntarioBets all season.
Although the Jays were ranked 20th in terms of road attendance (averaging 28,656), they attracted the ninth-largest home crowd, with an average of 33,101 fans per game. They achieve this in one of the league's most distinctive ballparks. Originally opened in 1989 as the SkyDome, the newly named Rogers Centre was the first MLB stadium to feature a fully retractable roof.
The Blue Jays find themselves positioned between teams that play in the two oldest Major League Baseball venues. The Chicago Cubs, who are second on our list, perform at historic Wrigley Field, opened in 1914. The Boston Red Sox, ranked fourth, have been at Fenway Park since 1912.
Fifth on the list are the Colorado Rockies, whose home is Coors Field in Denver. At an altitude of 5,200 feet, the high elevation at the Rockies’ stadium provides a notable advantage for home-run hitters.

Next, the New York Mets rank sixth with Citi Field in Queens, which opened its doors in 2009.
The team with the seventh-best fan experience is located by the Ohio River. Not only is the location appealing, but the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ballpark has recorded the highest number of home runs of any stadium over the past five seasons (totaling 1,031 from 2020 to 2024). This certainly suggests a lively fan environment.
The Washington Nationals, initially the Montreal Expos before relocating to the United States capital two decades ago, hold the eighth position. The Kansas City Royals (ninth) and Tampa Bay Rays (tenth) complete our ranking, even though they fell to 27th and 28th, respectively, in average attendance for 2024.
As of now, the Jays are leading the American League East, about 10% into the regular season. Will the Blue Jays make a significant impact in 2025?
