Pinto’s suspension takes effect starting from the first game of the 2023-24 season. Over the course of his NHL career thus far, which began with his selection in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, he has participated in 99 games, netting 22 goals and contributing 21 assists. Last season, he played in all 82 games, scoring 20 times and providing 15 assists. He has not yet taken the ice this season.

'I would like to extend my apologies to the NHL, the Ottawa Senators, my teammates, the fans and the city of Ottawa, and most importantly, my family,' Pinto expressed in the league’s announcement about his suspension. 'I accept complete responsibility for my actions and eagerly anticipate returning to the rink with my teammates.'

The NHL has stated that it considers all matters related to this case to be resolved.
